Police park and wait for patrons to leave my bar and stop them. They don't stop anybody else on the road. They're being discriminatory to who they stop even when they don't break the law. This also happens at 2 other bars down the street. Customers wont even stop cause they know they'll be stopped. Our Security gaurd has been stopped 3 times leaving work and none of the times have they done anything to him. This is causing my business to suffer.
This is a typical tactic and there is nothing illegal about it provided that the cops only stop those who appear to be impaired.
No, the police can stop citizens that are breaking the law whereever they are found. If it happens to be outside your bar with some regularity you might ask your staff if your staff has a habit of overserving such patrons. Just a thought.
Good luck to you.
