I live in North Dakota. My childs bio-father has been in prison in Puerto Rico since before our child was born, she is 6. Is it possible to terminate all of his rights me being in a different state? The reason for his incarceration was violent but not towards me. The end goal is to have my husband, who my child knows as her father, legally adopt her.
As practical advice, it might be easier to just have the biological father consent to the adoption if at all possible.
