Can one work in finance /related fields if your major in undergraduate studies was in Engineering? Isn't it in violation of h1B?
So I am an H1B student working for an Engineering company. Someone I know who is also on h1B recently moved to work for a renowned hedge fund as a Quant programmer even though he got his bachelor’s in physics. Isn’t your job supposed to be linked to your major as per H1B regulations. Also can I move as per H1B regulations to a finance/ related field even though I majored in electrical engineering, there are jobs in MBB and Private Equity companies that I am drawn to.
