I got married after my H1B application and stamping. I have two questions.
Can she apply for an H4 dependent visa on her own or do we need to engage our employer for that?
Can she go for the H4 visa interview on her own or do I (H1B holder) need to be present with her?
Your wife may apply for her H-4 visa though it is advisable to at least speak to your employer's immigration attorney to make sure she knows what needs to be done and what documents to submit. You do not need to attend the interview with her.

Your spouse can apply for the H-4 on her own or with guidance from your employer's immigration attorney. You do not need to be present at the U.S. consulate at the time of application for such visa.
H-4 visa application is made at the Consulate and so an applicant can file it independently.
