Hello, My spouse recently went to jail for domestic violence and we received a visit from a DCFS worker who advised will be taking us to family court ? My two underage children did not witness any of this alterations other than a couple arguing back and forth by myself and my spouse. We are very great parents to our kids and don't see a reason to have my kids removed for any reason if my spouse and myself will be attending domestic violence, parenting and other classes that may help us with any issues we have. We will be attending these classes voluntarily.
If DCFS is already involved, you need to follow their instructions 100%. Bend over backwards to appease DCFS and comply with any safety plan given (if applicable). Get an attorney. I have seen victims of domestic violence lose their child(ren) due to a "failure to protect." While I appreciate and empathize with your situation, you need to get legal representation or at least speak with an attorney to address your problems. Best of luck to you and your kids. If there was domestic violence, seek a restraining order to protect the kids and keep dad away.
