My husband came from abroad to join ex wife with a child. She abused him so much that he left and later divorced. They have never communicated since he left the home. We met and got married in 2013. There is no court order for child support. Does he still need to prove financial support to apply for citizenship? He wants nothing to do with ex- wife.
I work with some very wise immigration attorneys and, although I do not personally practice immigration, I know that applying for citizenship should be done with the assistance of an attorney. My suggestion would be to retain an attorney to help your husband. There is not enough information in your question to determine whether your husband would be eligible for citizenship.
