I kicked out my sister due to the fact that she stayed longer than our verbal agreement of staying for a few weeks. Since she has been in our house she been engaged in illegal practices like smoking weed, underage drinking and taking illegal prescription drugs. All of this has been reported to the authorities and they said if she was to do them again to call them. I have told her numerous times she can't stay with us and that she needed to find a place. Gave her a verbal one week notice to leave...she didn't respect that. Yesterday was my last straw after she admitted to still have illegal substances in my home and I kicked her out. She just leaves. I packed her belongings and set them outside my door. She has also stolen my spare house key and won't return it. She said she has "evidence" I damaged her belongings and that I was "threat to her safety" for yelling at her to please leave my house for admitting she still had illegal substances in my home. Now wants to sue me. However, I only set her things outside my home under my shaded porch. She never paid rent while living here. Can she rightfully sue and win?
First, what happened to her belongings, did she get them?
If you demanded she leave and she left, she has not basis to sue. She might try to sue over damage to her property but she has to prove that you did damage her property and the current value of the item...not the replacement value.
