Can my employer offer my notary services?
1 attorney answer
A condition of your employment is to provide services for your employer AND their customers. There is nothing illegal in their request. FYI a notary charges a fee for their own clients. I am a notary in NYS as are several my bank's officers. NONE of them (including me) charge a customer or client for notarizing documents provided to us by our employer. One suggestion I have is to ask the employer to pay your renewal fee (mine did).

Mr. Sarno is licensed to practice law in NJ and NY. His response here is not legal advice and does not create an attorney/ client relationship. The response is in the form of legal education and is intended to provide general information about the matter in question. Many times the questioner may leave out details which would make the reply unsuitable. Mr. Sarno strongly advises the questioner to confer with an attorney in their own state to acquire more information about this issue.
