ok our payroll was already sent in but our boss wants to redo it to take away 30 minutes of each day we worked for a lunch break that we didnt know we had to do is this leagal for him to do?

Generally employers can do what they want so long as they do not do it because of an impermissible purpose such as not paying for the lunch time of African Americans or people over the age of 40. I believe moving forward they can force you to take a 30 minute lunch that is not paid so long as you are not expected to do any work during that half hour. If you are expected to answer phones or wait on people during that 30 min period then I believe you have to get paid. The department of labor will be able to tell you for sure though.
