I witnessed and injury at work yesterday of a visitor here who ran into a glass window when leaving our business she had gotten shaken up pretty badly...she's an older woman and it stunned her very bad. We took care of her till she got her senses back. We offered to drive her home but she felt she was ok after sitting for a while to go ahead and drive. I wrote up an incident report and turned it in. I put in it that the woman walked in to a clear glass window with her nose and forehead. The lady came back about an hour later and decided she wanted to go to the drs to be checked and my boss refused to give her the report said she sent it to HR already. She offered her to go to a convienent care facility but the lady wanted to be seen by a dr not a physicians assistant/nurse practioner. She did end up going and being referred to the ER due to her BP being too high, probably from the stress! Then my boss called me, very upset and said that some of the things I wrote in it are not true or correct and that I would need to change it. I wrote what I saw and heard...can she make me write what she wants me to write on there? Thank you
Your boss cannot make you change your report. You wrote down your own observations, period. If your boss wishes, he or she can supplement the report based on what your boss saw or heard.
