I just started renting an apartment, and I'm being charged $75/month for electricity, to be paid directly to the leasing community, regardless of how much electricity I use.
I barely have any electronics, and am somewhat annoyed that I'm being forced to pay a flat fee for electricity, even if I'm not using it. Is this legal?
I'm sure it is probably legal.... but... I'd love it if I could find out what regulations, if any, there are on this subject.
The lease will control the payment of utilities. If you agreed to the flat rate, a regulation or statute will not likely disturb your agreement.
