Have live in apartment for 15 yrs. new owners took over. I went to iffice to ask to get a few things fixed was told we needed to sign new lease before these things could be fixed. We now have received notice that they will not take our rent until we sing new lease. And will be evicted on the 15th for nonpayment of rent. Can they do this to us?

Unfortunately, they can do this. If you do not have a current written lease, you are on a month to month basis since your previous lease ended. The new owners only have to give you 7 days notice after you declined the new lease before they can begin eviction proceedings for failure to pay the new lease rent.
