I applied EAD card and travel document based on pending i-485 through marriage.
The combo card was mailed out but lost in mail, so I have to re-apply for replacement card. I have a couple questions.
1. Am I allow to work if I get a receipt notice for this new application? I read somewhere that I can use that for 90 days and wait until the physical card comes, but I don’t remember if that is actually a law.
2. I checked the instructions that replacement for EAD, which is free. However, for travel document, I need to pay $510. My question is, if I only apply for replacement EAD, will it still come as a combo card with travel document endorsement?
3. Do I still need to apply for travel document and pay the filing fee?
4. Am I allow to travel abroad with this EAD replacement i797 notice of action?
An employer may not accept the receipt as a valid I-9 document. No, the receipt for a replacement travel document is not itself a travel document.
