I have recently became unemployed due to being laid off. I’m being paid very minimally through unemployment. If I work for Rover, which is a dog sitting app, averaging only 30-60 mins per week, do I need to report this? It only asks me how many days I’ve worked and not the specifics, I am hoping I can still earn unemployment as this small job does not make much money.
6 months ago I represented a woman who kept 1 housekeeping client while on worker's comp, and was making $20 per week. She was charged with a number of felonies, after 18 months. The amount of her overpayment, that she had to pay back, was less than $300 total, for 18 months. Felony charges.
Just report the income and take the $10 hit to your unemployment check. Its better than getting arrested.
