My 17 year old daughter left home voluntarily to not have to follow rules, and now thinks she's entitled to the vehicle I added her to. Title is in both our names. Can I take her off since she's still a minor? Without her signing?
No you cannot. I wish that people would stop and think before putting other peoples' names on real estate or vehicle titles. By doing that, you became financially responsible for the results of any auto accident . You need to notify the insurance company of her new address, if you know it, but doing that will not relieve you if she injures someone else in an accident. You can't escape liability by cancelling the insurance either. This is mess that you unwittingly created and there is no simple way out of it, other than by signing off your own interest in the vehicle and leaving her to fend for herself.
