My husband and I signed a two-year lease a couple of months later I could not find it we asked for a copy and the landlord decided to make us sign a different one for only a one-year term. Couple of months after that we found the original 2 year lease. can that one still stand or do we have to abide by the one-year lease? We live in Alvin TX. never been late on a payment just butted heads a couple of times due to some issues with the property that needed fixing.
If you signed a second lease, the presumption would be that the second lease replaces the first. You do not indicate whether the second lease was actually signed. If the second lease was not signed, then the first lease would still be in effect.
