We lived in Cadiz Ky, when ex roommate kicked me out without 30 day notice. Do I have to take her to small claims court in Cadiz or can I do it in Murray, where we both work and I now live? I really don't want to go to Cadiz to court because when she called the Sheriff to get me to leave without any notice. I didn't change my address on my driver's license and the Sheriff said that was grounds for automatic arrest, so if I didn't move out that night I would be arrested.
Generally, you must file your civil action in the county where the defendant resides -- in this case, it appears that would be in Trigg County, not Calloway County since your ex-roomate lives in Cadiz.
