Can I take Dish Network to small claims court?

You can try small claims court but you may run into problems. Your user agreement that you signed with Dish may have an arbitration clause requiring you to submit disputes to arbitration. Many large service providers are routinely adding arbitration clauses to prevent the type of local lawsuit you would like to use. Check your users agreement closely. Also Dish may choose to remove your small claims complaint to District Court where it is much more difficult to represent yourself. It is always a good idea to document a telephone call cancelling or changing service with a letter.
