My boyfriend and I moved into a new apartment complex about 3 months ago. We did not know that the address wasn’t valid until we tried to order stuff online. We have also been to the post office to speak to the postmaster multiple times and nothing has been done.
There are less expensive alternatives to suing someone for this. Check with the apartment management company for a mailing address that will deliver to management office. Have the packages sent to work or a relative's house. Continue to speak to the postmaster. Court costs for a lawsuit are approximately $200 minimum. Your gut reaction is to sue someone, I know you are frustrated, but there are solutions besides suing. Getting a post office box or a box at a UPS store or similar for one year costs just a little more than just the court costs for a lawsuit - not to mention all of the time you would spend on preparing legal pleadings, attending court, etcetera. I don;t know of any attorney who would accept a case like this without you paying attorneys' fees as well.
