I have had 2 bad YELP reviews from people trying to take advantage of the "Service Dog" law; one of which calls me out by name and damages my character. I know by law (both State and Health Code) that because we serve food at the bar we are only allowed to let in ADA service dogs. This does not include "Emotional Support" dogs as they are not ADA sanctioned to go everywhere, including food establishments.
This particular lady made false statements and her dog was not a guide dog as she claims.
It is punishable by up to $10,000 to falsely claim a dog as a Service Dog if I am correct? I figure if it were actually a Service dog we would have heard from a lawyer long ago. I also have friends with actual service dogs and understand what they do and how they go about doing it. That dog was simply her pet.
What are my options in dealing with this?
