Social Security linked my Social security number to an individual who is currently incarcerated with a felony conviction in another state. apparently, the individual who is incarcerated has the same name and date of birth as myself, the only difference is that the individual who is incarcerated is undocumented and I am a citizen. so now my record says that I have a felony on my record and I'm afraid of what can happen since I am a High School Teacher and don't know how to make sure my name and SSN gets clear of any wrongdoing.
I have moved your question to the identity theft section of Avvo. While you cannot sue the SSA, hopefully attorneys in that field can find a resolution to that nightmare.
