I hire Power home remodeling in December 2017, they did the job and two month later had to be called because me roof was leaking. they had one guy come out said he put on something to seal where the leak was. a few months later the roof was still leaking in the same spots. the third time they came out they told me in one spot that was leaking it was my job to fix the brick work on my roof that was making water come in. one of the leaks is over my three year olds room and the other is coming into my cost closet. I have also filed a BBB complaint which was cancelled due to the fact that i denied the companies response to my claim and the BBB let them know that which they never responded to the BB that is why they cancelled the claim. the loan for the roof is $18,000 which my husband has continue to pay even though the roof is still leaking. my husband called them a few weeks ago and they said oh we were going to call you, they didn't say any much and still haven't called or come by.
thank you in advance.
Power Home must be licensed and bonded, because you got a home improvement loan for $18K.
Therefore, if you think that their work was shoddy, that is, they breached their warranty of good workmanship, then complain on the NYC website. The Dept Consumer Protection acts on your behalf. YOu can even get an administrative hearing so that disputes are resolved.
As far as the home loan, you are on the hook for that. THe quality of the work done by Power Home does not affect your duty to pay the loan, which I assume is a line of credit which the bank can enforce against your husband and against the home.
