I transfered internationally 7k usd from my bank account back home to my American bank account.
It's been 12 days now and the money has not arrived yet. I keep calling my American bank but they keep saying nothing yet and worst of all is that they are lying. My bank back home says had been tracing the money and they confirmed to me that the money has been received by my American bank.
The money has been received by the American bank but for some reasons it's not showing up in my account and they keep denying it.
Without knowing details (the means of the transfer, why the bank is refusing to give you your funds, etc.) it is difficult to know whether the bank is violating the regulations. It is possible to sue a bank for violating the federal regulations regarding funds access, but it's not clear from the question whether a violation has occurred.
Do you want accurate, personalized, legal advice that you can rely on? You will have to hire an attorney, not ask on Avvo. I am not your attorney and am not creating an attorney-client relationship by this post. I am therefore giving only general advice. This advice may not apply to you or your situation; may not take account of all possibilities, and may not match the advice I would give to a client. DO NOT rely on this advice or any other advice on Avvo to make your legal decisions. If you want an answer to a legal question you should retain an attorney who is licensed in your state.
The only other thing that I could add is that you may get some answers by contatcing the state's Division of Banks which oversees all banking institutions in the state.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
