You can sue McDonald's, that isn't an issue. Recovery for your injuries may be very hard to prove. To be honest it doesn't sound like it would be worth your time to file a suit. I would recommend trying to reach out to corporate, they may offer you something for the troubles.
In my opinion the answer depends on how sick you got and why. If you were merely disgusted and became sick then no case since no real damages. If you got food poisoning then that's a different matter entirely.
