I was externing at a location andwas sent home on day 1 and told to go play w my baby. The second time i was there i was sent home same time and told I stunk. Many people I spoke to that day told me I did not. I emailed school w no help. Third time I was there was told to leave same exact time but not told why. Now site terminates me and school says its my fault bc they are saying i stunk so bad all the days and that they told me multiple times which they did not. Everyone else says I did not stink or look unclean. I emailed school after the second and third times regarding issues at the site. Now Im losing out on over 1200 for the class and possibly not going to get my degree. Can I sue site/lady for slander and defemation?
Not sure how they published this information to third parties and it does not fit into traditional definitions of slander per se, meaning you would have to prove damages. Also, saying your stunk may be just considered an opinion. Finally, as in all defamation cases, truth is a defense.
