Im black and went to treatment for behavior , there were a couple things that robbed me the wrong way which were 1. i wasn’t allowed to pick my hair out into an afro (even though it was already an afro it just gets bigger when the curls are stretched out) because it was “attention seeking” 2. cornrows and braids were put into a negative category that was gang violence instead of the actual culture itself that they care from. 3. i wasn’t allowed to use products in my hair that i needed until the end of my program 4. in a seminary class black people were referred to as negroes and when i asked them to stop using the term i was the one getting in trouble (it was in utah but i live in colorado i travelled to the program)
I have a hard time believing such a lawsuit will be worth your time, but you will need to consult with an attorney in Utah to determine whether you have a case worth pursuing. You certainly cannot sue in Colorado.
