Can I sue a moving company?

My parents have both retired a few years back and they decided to move to Ensenada, they hired a moving company back in 2016, contract was made and signed in December 2016. Today is March 13, 2016 and they are yet to receive their furniture from their house. He no longer answers my parents calls, my parents are of age and have had to go out and buy stuff that they already have. I have called mexican customs and they only hold vehicles up to 2 and a half weeks. The last time my parents talked to the mover he stated that his truck was held in customs for almost 6 weeks. This man has been lying to my parents and now they want more money. Can someone please help me help my parents to get this problem resolved, it is killing me that my parents moved to live a more stress free life and they have been under so much stress that my father has gone to the doctors due to this issue and have to spend extra money for simple things like a bed and a couch. They are eating out daily, and have a small cooler and have to pack it with ice just to have cool water and milk.
