After being released too early from the emergency room. I ended up slipping out of a wheel chair and hitting my skull on a planter pot. The fire dept. Put 2 narcaine sticks up my nose and gave me a shot of something. I still wouldn't wake up. I had a breathing tube installed to breathe for me. My hospital bill was close to $190,000. Paid for by my medical insurance. I still have blurry vision, speech issues, and memory issues.
It is possible to sue for malpractice if you were too medicated to care for yourself when you were discharged. It's not clear if you were discharged and wheeled out of the hospital on your own, or you were discharged to the care of another person, friend or family member. The circumstances of the discharge can affect whether it was reasonable. A review of records would be necessary. Consultations with medical malpractice attorneys are generally free.
