Are you the personal representative of his estate. If fo you can contest. Ask a probate attorney quickly. Don’t let time run on you

You should definitely consult with an estate attorney to potentially dispute your stepmother's claims to your father's estate. However, this is a separate issue from life insurance benefits as those typically pass directly to the named beneficiary outside of a person's estate. If your stepmother was the sole named beneficiary (even after the divorce was filed) on his life insurance policy, then the life insurance benefit will likely pass to her.
An estate attorney in your area should be able to evaluate what your options might be to challenge your stepmother's claims to your father's property and/or life insurance benefits.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
