after 12 years I finally found my son and the adoptive parents have stuck him in a group home and never visit him. he wants to come live with me. He is 15 now and in califonia while I live in Arkansas. is there any legal way to get him back after 12 years, he wants to run away to come here, but I have told him I will try legally to get him.
The answer is no. Your parental rights were terminated and the child was adopted. You are a legal stranger. I might suggest respectively contacting the adoptive parents and seek their permission and guidance to devloping a relationship with the child.
Theoretically, there may have been some technical problems with the adoption that would allow you to set it aside, but it would be a long shot made even longer due to the length of time that has passed (and you didn't indicate anything in your post that suggests that there is any basis to have it set aside)
You may be able to petition for guardianship, but if his home state is California you'll need to check with an attorney in California to see what the laws are there.
