I live in Texas and engaged to be married to my fiancé in Texas. I'm awaiting for my divorce in California to be final. Can I immediately remarry in Texas and avoid the Texas 30 day waiting period since my divorce is actually California?
The laws of Texas should govern your remarriage. You must obtain a waiver of the prohibited remarriage. You need some proof of the California divorce, and you need to go to the district clerk's office in the county of your residence, Travis, to request a waiver of prohibited remarriage period for good cause. Good cause can be military service, pregnancy and other reasons.
