Hired professional movers and signed the contract, which contained a clause about liability and limits. Basically, the movers did not conduct themselves professionally and didn't use the usual and customary moving blankets and completely damaged a 6-month old leather sofa (paid $2400). I filed a warrant in debt because the moving company did not respond to my claim within 30 days and now their lawyer is basically saying I have no claim due to contract, which limits claim amount to $50
If you contracted your right to sue away your option might be left to homeowners/renters insurance. Of course the lawyer is going to claim that--you need YOUR lawyer to interpret the contract you signed and identify your options.
