After having my second child at age 21, in the military, I had the Norplant implanted for birth control. I was I at Ft Campbell, Kentucky this was July of 1993. I was then reassigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii in March of 1994. I began having serious migraines, and suffered from depression. I had them removed and it was a horrible ordeal. It took 3 hours; the implants were under my muscles. The migraine slowly went away and for the moment I was fine. Since then I have been totally sterile, I have massive nerve damage in my right arm, and 2 husbands divorced me because I couldn't get pregnant. My depression lead to serious alcoholism and drug use. I would also like to know when the lawsuit against Norplant was started. I never heard anything about it but always knew that Norplant was the reason I could not get pregnant and the problems in my right hand and arm. I now live in Louisville, Kentucky. Many thanks.
