Housing and food stamp benefits?
The type of Attorneys who specialize in figuring out eligibility for government assistance are elder law attorneys so I have changed your category to elder law. For the food stamps you would probably need to go off of food stamps while you have cash that disqualifies you but then once you invest the money into exempt assets or otherwise spend it, you could ask to be put back on food stamps. Section 8 housing is more problematic. I have had a lot of trouble trying to understand Section 8 housing eligibility so I won't even try to help you. Find someone who has expertise in section 8 housing and have them help you. Often the Attorneys who work for legal aid have more experience with section 8 benefits. Be very very careful because it is almost impossible to get your section 8 benefits back once you lose them.
