My ex husband purchased a home in 2007 and I was not on the initial purchase nor on the deed. We were married in 2008 and in 2012 he refinanced the home and put my name on the mortgage but my name was never put on the deed. During the divorce the judge said that since I was not on the deed, I had no rights to the home. I just purchase my first home and wanted to know if I am able to qualify for the 1st time home buyers tax credit.
I BELIEVE YOU CAN QUALIFY, BUT YOU NEED TO CONTACT LENDERS AND GET THEIR SPECIFICATIONS.
