We got married in September of 2017 and our photographer had great reviews and such. We met in April 2017 to discuss options. He ensures that we will get our products within 2 weeks max, by the time we come back from honeymoon. We signed the contract for photo and video a week after the first meeting with the first half of the payment. He was then hard to get in contact with a month before the wedding, then someone else, not himself, shows up for the wedding. Who was too timid to take important photos. After the wedding, we find out payment was delayed so they contact us for the last payment. We make the last half of the payment in full during our honeymoon. After a month, I contact him because we didn't get our photos/video still. No Photos. We contacted multiple times nicely on txt, then we finally received our photos in December of 2017. But still no video. In March 2018, We contacted and they said on email that the video is delayed but they are working on getting it done ASAP. In May 2018, I emailed them a very upset message asking why we still have not received our video. No response. I've called and texted. No response. I found out there are more like us.
What can I do?
The District Attorney would likely consider this a civil matter and advise you to retain an attorney or to file suit in small claims court.
You should consider preparing a letter to mail by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the photographer to set out the facts and to demand the relief that you want. If need be the letter can be evidence in small claims court should you have to sue the photographer.
