I currently am in a contract for deed for a home and 5 acres of property. I have been in the contract for 6 years now. I was wondering if it was legally okay for me to operate a business on the same property without needing consent from the seller. I am in the State of Oklahoma. Thank You.
First you need to look at your contract to see if you are allowed to operate a business on the property.
Most contracts spell out such things, and I would never recommend you do this without the seller's written permission, as the seller still owns the property until you pay it off and obtain a deed of ownership. Typically, owners prohibit businesses where people live, as if you damage the property there could also be repercussions to you as well as the owner.
Consult local counsel before you go down this road.

Always conduct a detailed, in-depth, in-person consultation with an attorney before deciding on a legal course of action, since meaningful legal advice has to take into account considerable factors that have not been disclosed or discussed.
