I am 15 and I have a friend that I want to stay with because I can't deal with my parents anymore, though they aren't physically abusive, but they say unpleasant things and will deny it, what laws could I work around or how could I be my own legal guardian being that I have no older siblings or relatives in the state
At age 15, you don't get to make adult decisions. Those are left for your parents to make.
The opinion that I express should not be considered to be legal advice that can be relied on. It is based only on the limited amount of information provided rather than doing a thorough review of all of the important information that is required to give accurate legal advice. You should consult with an attorney that has extensive background in the area of the law that your are inquiring about.
Hi, I urge you to work things out with your parents. You are not old enough to move out. Try going in to counseling to work on these issues. Good luck to you.
At age 15 there is nothing you can do, but at age 16 you can technically file a petition for emancipation. However, it is best that you follow the advice of other counsel and work things out with your parents, even if that means going to counseling. Good luck you you.
