I can't remember where since at that time i was going thru a lot and was not taking medications for my bipolar disorder, at that time i was living in Portville and was heading to Buffalo to go party, of course i got stop by the police. I went to see the judge, but for some reason it got postponed and i never went back. Now i am stable and take my medications daily. I would like to resolve this issue, please help.
Yes you could hire an attorney and he could try to find the case or warrant. Chances are even when he locates the matter, your appearance will be required.
Any response I provide is meant as a general view on the subject and is no way intended to be specific legal advice to any individual. If you wish specific advice, you should hire and consult with an attorney of your choosing.
Depends on the judge. Hire an attorney and he can try to handle this all without your presence. You aren't clear if this is a traffic matter or something more. It might be able to be handled without you or you might have to appear regardless.
It depends on what the charges are. .........
I am a former federal and State prosecutor and have been handling criminal defense and personal injury cases for over 18 years. The above answer, and any follow up comments or emails, is for informational purposes only and not meant as legal advice.
If it was a criminal offense you will likely need to appear with your attorney. If it was a violation your lawyer will likely be able to handle it without you needing to appear. If it was a traffic violation then your license is probably suspended and you can figure out the court by simply obtaing a copy if your driver's abstract from your local DMV for $10.00. You should not operate a vehicle if your license is suspended.
