My daughter father was deceased before she was born and her grandmother has signed the paper with Social Security saying she is not for her Father, Now social security will not let her receive benefits for her father, but her grandmother is the only way to prove that she is for her father through maternal DNA and it has now been five years.
You only have one year after the father's death to prove paternity. Why would you wait 5 years?
