I recently found out that my ex has basically promised to buy our child a phone. I've always told our son that he's not allowed to have a phone. I told my ex that and he didn't care. I told him that if i saw the phone in my house, i would get rid of it. He said if i did that he would charge me with stealing. Can he do that?
Unless you have sole legal custody of your child, you don't have the right to "tell" your ex how it's going to be. That's not the way to treat you child's father, nor how to co-parent.
I agree with Ms. Routledge. If your ex wants to purchase his child a phone, your ex can do that.
