In 2005 i was charged with larceny $500 - $2500. The actual amount of money involved was $90. i have just recently noticed this mistake and im wondering if i can get these charges dismissed.. or can i get it reduced to a misdemenor?
Having the charges amended at this point is highly unlikely. If you were already convicted or entered a plea of guilty, which it sounds like you have due to the fact that you are on probation, then this could make things very difficult for you. There are certain time limits for filing appeals and some rights to appeal may have been waived by you.
Getting the probation terminated is certainly an option depending on how long you've been on probation, whether you hold a steady job, your behavior while on probation, and a variety of other options.
You should consult a lawyer immediately to discuss your options.
