So a friend of ours made a deal with us to sell us her car, for 9000, with 2000 down. We have paid 1700 plus 200 in maintenance, and because i cant make the payments she wants, she wants to cancel our deal. I told her im not giving the car or keys back until i get refunded what i paid into that car. She told me she doesnt have to refund me. Am i pretty much screwed on my money? Or is she required to refund me? She cancelled the deal within 30 days.
Maybe. It depends on the terms of the agreement. Certainly you aren’t going to be able to breach the agreement after she performed her part (giving you car) with no consequences at all.
The money you spent on maintenance is irrelevant.
