I was convicted of a juvenile felony at age 13 (agg. assault w/deadly weapon) is there a way that i may get my record removed or expunged (which would be better?) so that i may be eligible to join the military? I have already tried joining the military and they rejected my application because of my juvenile record.
The military would continue to be able to access the record. The status of your record is in question - "convicted" generally applies to adult offenses so if you were certified as an adult (not likely unless you were not in Texas), then you may have been convicted. If you were sent to TYC, you were adjudicated delinquent.
You really should get a copy of your records and meet with a lawyer in person.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
