My drivers license has been suspended due to 1 DUI in 2005 and 1 DWI in 2006. I still have state fees for both cases and a few warrants from a few years back. Is there a way to consolidate all the fees, start some kinds of payment to get my license back?
The best thing to do is call DPS directly on their drivers license hotline. They will walk you through it and tell you exactly what you need to do to clear your license. You can ask them directly about surcharge forgiveness. They were doing that for a while, but I am not sure if that program is still in place.
Your best bet is to ask DPS directly. If you involve an attorney you will be charged for the service and will probably end up with the same result.
You'll have to hire an attorney to recall the warrants and see if the hold can be listed from your case. You're possibly facing jail time.
I am licensed attorney who focuses on Serious DUI Cases such a 2nd DUIs, 3rd DUIs, 4th DUIs, and Felony DUIs and DMV hearings. I also have much experience handling car accident cases. Although the information I provide is helpful, it is not legal advice. Although Avvo makes it clear to consumers that attorney answers to questions are for general purposes only and do not establish an attorney-client relationship, some attorneys prefer to add their own disclaimers to answers. You can set your custom disclaimer here and it will be automatically added to your answers. Do NOT include any direct solicitations or contact information.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
