I took an offer for a deferred sentence in May 2018 for harassment and domestic violence. I am on unsupervised probation and taking my classes weekly since June. My DV class counselor told me I am on track to successfully completing the classes by January 2019, however my final court date is not until May 2019. Is there a chance I can get my deferred sentence and on with my life earlier rather than waiting until May?
Talk to an attorney who practices in the jurisdiction where the case was. Some DA's offices might be willing to consider it. You would need the DA to be on board with getting the case dismissed. Each DA's office is different so talk to someone where the case was.
