Okay so I was on this dating site and this girl started to message me and what not and we exchanged phone numbers, soon she started talking about sex and on the site it said she was 18 but come to find out she's 17 I'm 24 can I get in trouble for sending a picture of my penis to her
Did her dad contact you, threatening to call the cops unless you send him money for her counseling?
This communication is general in nature and not to be construed as legal advice or creating an attorney-client relationship. All situations are different and you should meet with and discuss your particular situation with an attorney.
Yes of course you can. However, if you get a call from her dad demanding money, this is a common scam and you should immediately contact an attorney to handle it for you. Thats extortion.
Yes, you can. I would recommend you do not do it.
The comments listed here are of a general nature and are not offered to create a formal attorney-client relationship -- that is, I am not, and I cannot give you legal advice here. I am Iowa licensed and, to become your attorney, I need to understand the particular facts and circumstances of your legal question and most likely meet you face to face.
You could, if she was 17. But she isnt. There isnt even a she. Did you speak to her on the phone or just text? You have been set up for a common scam and fell for it. There is no girl, there is no dad. Just a team of scammers. Ignore them and dont send pictures to people you dont know.
Besides the issue of this as a scam think about the following:
Adults are free to cyber sex, but minors are not. Even having a picture of one's self if you are a minor is considered having child pornography. If the pictures have been sent to someone there is the added charge of distributing child pornography. The authorities take these actions very seriously and will charge offenders when found.
Finally, nothing good ever comes from sexting. Even adults will find that when one party gets mad at the other their pictures are spread all over the Internet and then they will spend a lot of time and effort, and even money to get these nasty pictures removed.
DO NOT ENGAGE IN CYBER SEX - NOTHING GOOD EVER COMES FROM THIS ACTIVITY.
