I have only been employed for four months. I had injured my left arm off the job during training and the whole time my employer knew about it. I was doing light duty basically. Then I got a note from the doctor saying it would take a couple of more weeks before I can return to full duty. They then told me that they don't do light duty any more and that I can't return to work until I am cleared from the doctor. I have been out unpaid every since then. I need more insight on this situation.
If this truly a non work related injury, they can do this. Exceptions would be if you are a union member or have an employment agreement with the company that addresses this situation.
