my brother died 5 years ago his ex wife is on drugs and my nephew lives with her 70+ year old grandparents her sister and 2 other children in a 3 bedroom home. Do i have any chance.
This is a custody dispute. You must explain how and why the children have been in the care of the maternal grandparents for so long. Consult with local family law attorney for an opinion.
Sorry to hear of your situation. You would need to contact a family law attorney in the county where your nephew lives. If he is not safe in his current situation, DHR can investigate and make a recommendation for custody.
I agree with my colleague. You will need to speak with a local lawyer who handled family law cases and get some specific advice for your case.
