My daughter called police after we argued. They arrived. My daughter and I exchanged some curse words to each other then she left. The police kept trying to provoke me. I was cursing in general but not to them. My 21 year old daughter had left so I asked them to leave to go and cool down. They said no and followed me to my bedroom asking for my license. They even asked my husband to leave our bedroom when he followed the officers in. He refused. They handcuffed me. My husband finally dug out my license. I feel the situation was diffused. I asked them politely to leave and they refused. They charged me with disorderly conduct and threatened a charge of obstructing an official investigation. I paid a lawyer. But have no confidence as I have seen our justice system in action. My lawyer said I could not. But I have had a different opinion from any attorney I have asked. I will continue to seek opinions though as I feel one can never have enough information in situations such as this.
You paid a lawyer, but now you're asking total strangers for a second opinion? Speak with the attorney you hired and thank you for sharing your views on the justice system. Can't say I disagree with you, but where I practice, the justice system actually does a very good job administering "justice."
